Police officers were recently taking a break at a 7-11 in Central El Paso when they noticed the strong smell of marijuana. It appeared to be coming from the car that was parked right next to their patrol unit. Talk about gutsy!
Mychael Keshawn Stevens, 21, and Earnest Lenard Hampton, 24, were inside the car and police immediately headed over to do a search.
You think they would have used a little more common sense then to park right next to a cop car… Apparently not though, because police revealed that the two men were in possession of marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), 19 tables of MDMA, three LSD paper strips, TCH wax, Hashish, Cocaine, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Alprazolam. The men also had a loaded 9mm handgun in the vehicle, along with a loaded 25mm handgun.
Yet they were smoking pot next to a police car? Really?
The men were both immediately placed under arrest. Stevens was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, three counts of Possession of Controlled Substance, four counts of Manufacture Delivery of Controlled substance, two outstanding Municipal Warrants and a single count of Possession of Marijuana. Bonds for Stevens came out to $29,424.
Hampton was charged with one count of Possession of Controlled Substance, four counts of Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance, a single count of Possession of Marijuana and one outstanding Municipal warrant. His bonds totaled $26,350.
